2. Data We Collect

Account data

Email address, name (optional), and authentication tokens when you create an account via Supabase Auth (email/password or OAuth).

Usage data

Pages visited, features used, credit consumption, audit results, and generated schemas stored in your account.

Analytics data (with consent)

If you accept analytics cookies: anonymized page views, clicks, session duration, browser type, and approximate location (country/region) collected by Google Analytics 4 and PostHog.

Payment data

Processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We store Stripe customer IDs and subscription status.

Website data

URLs and domains you submit for audits, along with publicly available information we fetch from those URLs (HTML content, headers, schema markup, Core Web Vitals).

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Rankeo platform
  • Run SEO and GEO audits on URLs you submit
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails (account, reports, billing)
  • Analyze aggregated usage patterns to improve the product (with consent)
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Third-Party Processors

We share data only with processors necessary to operate the service:

  • Supabase (AWS us-east-1) — Authentication & database
  • Stripe (USA) — Payment processing
  • Vercel (global edge) — Hosting & serverless functions
  • Google Analytics 4 (USA) — Analytics (consent-gated)
  • PostHog (EU/USA) — Product analytics (consent-gated)
  • Resend (USA) — Transactional email delivery
  • Upstash (global) — Redis cache & rate limiting

5. Cookies

Essential cookies

Session cookies for authentication and CSRF protection. These are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies (consent required)

Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) and PostHog cookies. Only set after you explicitly consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer.

6. Your Rights

GDPR (EU/EEA residents)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Contact us at jonathan@rankeo.io to exercise these rights.

CCPA (California residents)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Audit data is retained for 12 months from creation. Analytics data is retained per the processor's default retention (GA4: 14 months, PostHog: 12 months). You can request deletion at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

Rankeo is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our processors operate. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and processor certifications to ensure adequate protection.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
